Irish Setters are exceptionally friendly and sociable with people and other dogs. This breed does not like to be alone. Irish Setters are quick runners. This breed does not make a good guard dog. Irish Setters need space to roam and are best suited to homes with large fenced yards.

    Irish Setter Trivia: In the world of breeders, there is a considerable controversy over Irish Setters versus Irish Red Setters. Irish Setters have been around even longer than English Setters. An Irish Setter is used as the logo for the national bus company in the Republic of Ireland, Bus Eireaan. Irish Setters have been popular in the U.S since the early 1800s.
